This article will explain how to make a pond filter and the materials you will need to build your pond filter for only .00. You will achieve this and have a quality diy pond filter for your pond pleasures. I have been specializing in pond filter design and in the pond business for over a decade now! I have the experience and the proof to back up the fact that I have some of the best techniques to build your own pond filter that will last a very long time for your pond enjoyment.

Our thought process and design is specifically engineered to be very durable and be able to last a very long time. I have had the same pond filter running my personal pond since I started building ponds, which was more than 10 years in the running now. Not only is my design easy to assemble and will hold up for you over the test of time, but it is very cost effective by allowing you only to have to change your pond filter an amazing three times a year! Yes that's right, I said only three times a year! Most filtration systems have to change the filter in them usually every 2 months. Also, one of the best parts about our pond filter is that it only cost you about .00 a year to change the filter! That's a win win for you and your pond building experience.

The secret to maintaining a beautiful, crystal clear pond, whether it is to keep goldfish, ornamental koi, or other fish species is to ensure that the water is kept free from ammonia, nitrites, suspended algae, parasites and harmful bacteria. Do not make the mistake that many newbie's make!

Follow the advice and recommendations below and you will not only save valuable money but also provide a healthier, safer place for your beautiful fish and aquatic life to live in.

So lets go through the basics to get you started on how to build a pond filter.

The materials you will need are listed below:

1. 20 Gallon Tub
2. Bag of polyurethane
3. Biospheres
4. 24" wide by 1" thick, 2 feet long
5. 2 hose clamps
6. 1" thick, 3ft long hose
7. 25" filter pad cut round
8. 4' X 2' lighting grid

Take the 20 Gallon Tub, drill 2 holes (1inch in diameter), 1 hole at the top, and 1 hole at the bottom. Take the pool fittings and plug the 2 holes that you drilled in the tub, attache the tubes, then use hose clamps. Put the biospheres in the bottom of bucket, then cut out the filter pad to the same size as the bottom of the tub. Place the filter pad in bottom of the tub on top of biospheres. Take the polyurethane and place on top of the filter pad. Then cut out the lighting grid to the same size of the bottom of the tub. Once you do that, place the grid on top of polyurethane, place something heavy on top like a bricks or something similar in weight.

Congratulations you now have an easy to assemble pond filter that will last you for years to come, and it hardly costs you .00 to replace the filter each year!
